Mallards in the Willamette River

Today I decided to focus on photographing the female mallard. It seems that the male mallards get all the attention of photographers with their beautiful colorful green and blue head and white collar. I think the female mallard is very beautiful with its intricate patterns and ability to blend in with her surroundings. This camouflage is useful when she is tending to her nest. Scenes from my Daily Walk

Today was a beautiful day in Portland and decided to go to Willamette Park. I was able to get about 20 feet from a Red Tailed hawk. It was on a tree limb and was eating the remains of a cotton tail rabbit that it had recently caught.
