The weather has been beautiful in Portland. It is expected to be that way for the next few days. Today I spend a few hours in Oaks Bottom and Willamette Park. The Mandarin duck is considered one of the top ten most colorful birds. I happened to come across one the other day in Happy Valley Oregon. Here are some of my photos from that session. I will be making more high resolution photos of this Mandarin Duck available to my members. The Mandarin duck is not native to Oregon. My Garden is full of life. I enjoy planting wild flowers that attract bees and butterflies. I also have many other visitors such as raccoons, cottontail rabbits, and wide variety of birds. I recently spent a few days in Neskowin. This is a small beach town on the Oregon Coast. It has a beautiful beach and coastal mountain forests that supports a wide variety of wildlife. Here are some of my photos from this trip.

There are many squirrels thriving in Portland. They are one of many animals that has successfully adapted to live in urban spaces. You probably see them in your yard or raiding in your local park. They are notorious for raiding bird feeders. Just like any animal, they are trying to survive and should not be punished or demonized trying to survive. I think they should be revered for their acrobatic skills and cuteness. Please become consider becoming a member to see more squirrel pictures.
