They say that April showers bring May flowers. Here are some pictures of my daily walk today. There were some April showers today and beautiful cloud formations....
Today I encountered a Red Tailed Hawk in perfect lighting conditions. I was able to get about 15 feet from it and get some very close up shots. Please consider becoming a member. I photographed this bird in Oaks’ Bottom in Portland Oregon. This is a long slender bird and is related to flycatchers. It is between the size of a sparrow and a robin. It was in the field at oaks bottom catching bugs. I was able to get fairly close and get some nice pictures and videos. Today I decided to focus on photographing the female mallard. It seems that the male mallards get all the attention of photographers with their beautiful colorful green and blue head and white collar. I think the female mallard is very beautiful with its intricate patterns and ability to blend in with her surroundings. This camouflage is useful when she is tending to her nest. A pondering crow that I photographed today. Being able to contemplate your own thoughts used to be thought of as only a human trait. It is now known that crows possess this ability. They also have the ability to use tools. They have incredible memory and can even solve puzzles. They have the intelligence equivalent to that of a chimpanzee.
